If you spend your day sitting at a desk and/or staring at a computer this is something you should certainly consider adding to your app list. Sure, there could be some improvement - as noted the exercises are the same and it becomes repetitive - but I’m not sure how you fix that economically. Overall, though, this app is exactly what you need to have a regular reminder to get up and away from your desk and computer to help you maintain your health. Well worth the price, IMO.
I use two workstations and sometimes the screen saver will activate on the machine with Healthier installed and that’ll reset the the countdown and I can’t find a way to change that. It’s a little irksome. Other than that, great app. Also, my send screen is on the right, but the arrow seems to only point to the left during break time. I don’t see a way to change that either.
Simple app that does what I need it to do in a smart way. My only gripe is not being able to turn off the quote that pops up during the breaks. It gets tiring after a while.
Rememember to stretch, to breathe, to move!! But I must add, if you have A.D.D. you wont need this app. ;)
I’m a college professor and yes, I spend hours on end in front of the computer. Much to the detriment of my lower back, I needed something that was going to change that. This app is AMAZING for reminding you to take periodic breaks. In particular, I LOVE that it covers the screen during breaktime, making it so that you MUST get up and take a break. (Note: If you don’t like that or if you’re in the middle of something important, you can undo the screen block with a simple click.) My only wish is that it was connected to the iphone and the iPad. Not everything I do is on my laptop. Therefore, when I’m grading student papers, I like to be reminded via phone to take a break. The app is really simple and all one needs to get the job done!
I’ve used 3 break-reminder apps, and this one by far takes the cake. In addition to simply being beautiful, what I love about this app is that it gives you a 30-second warning to get you (really: your mind) ready for the upcoming break. This seemingly minor feature is actually hugely helpful because it enables you to elengantly transition from typing or whatever you’re engaged in, to stepping away from the computer. In my experience with the other apps, the breaks always appeared without any warning, and the startling transitions always felt a bit frustrating. I also hugely appreciate the different exercises that this app offers during the breaks. Helps each break feel different and health-inducing, rather than just the same ol’ “back away from the computer” reminder. Overall, love this app and would recommend it to anyone who’d looking to break up their computer use in a fun and engaging way.
Simple, straight-forward, and exactly what everyone should have on their computer if they work in front of one for hours. Just enough to get me moving, and not too inflexible as to interrupt without easily dismissing when I’m right in the middle of something. I like the movement suggestions. Nice app!
I’ve used several different break applications over the years. The best part of this applicaiton is it’s simplicity, it doesn’t try to do too much. It’s super straightforward and elegantly solves a problem. If you need “just” a break reminder app. Buy it. Hesitate no more.
It makes me not want to use the app. Otherwise a good app but they need to give user the options to choose their own alert sounds.
This application is fantastic to remind you to get up and move around. If you are a person that is prone to intense concentration, focus and to getting things done, then you need this application. Every 30 minutes (or whatever time period you prefer) it will remind you to get up, stretch and move around. The application has suggested exercises for your upper body, neck, eyes, or legs. Or…you can get up and take a quick one minute break. Have you have read about the damage that you are doing to your body by sitting all day? This application is a well thought out approach to solving part of that problem. It just works and I recommend it.
I don’t find very many apps that I can rate 5 stars; this is definitely one of them. Does exactly what it says and no more - and that’s a good thing. Only feature-wish is more exercises...
I really like the clean display and functionality of this app. Having tried 3-4 of them, this looks really good and I like how exercises are incorporated. However, without a lockout feature, it makes it hard to recommend. The goal is to force a break…and I find that I want to finish up something so I quit it…and lose the benefit. Currently use Break Reminder which works as well but not as aesthetically pleasing and no exercises.
I love this app. Gorgeous design and does exactly what it advertises. The healthier tips break information has been surprisingly useful.
After this latest update the app just turns off after a few minutes. I turn it on and after a while it just disappears again.
I really like this app. It works just as you’d expect. Everything about it is just what I wanted and needed, except for one glaring hole that would be such a simple feature to add. Custom Quotes The quotes used are a bit repetitive and not personal. Let me add my own library of quotes and I’ll be an even happier customer. For what this app is in all it’s simplicity, I’d be able to give it 5 stars if I could add custom quotes.
